Sandstone Niche top view
To make the top piece for this thing, we had to find the biggest boulder that a skid loader could carry. While it was the biggest one available it was still not big enough. If you notice the mortar joint get’s to be a little bit big on the back side. The reason for that is I ran out of stone, that’s where the stone ended. At least the imperfection in on the back side. Since it was the biggest stone we could get, I had to make it work. On either side of the niche cap stones are being cut and layed.
