Limestone dry stack garden wall with a concrete cap.
The stone used for the construction of ths wall were recycled from a building that was torn down on site. The wall has the apperance of being dry layed, however it does in fact have a solid grout core. This will keep the wall together for much longer than if it were traditional dry stack. It then also made it possible to lay a concrete cap in cement rather than dry layed.
Dry stack walls tend to move with freeze thaw cycles. In some cases that is perfectly fine, but when things move they also settle. This can lead to the break down of the wall. A solid grout core helps a great deal to keep things from moving.
